There’s Nothing “Lo Fi” or “Ho Hum” About It-

Fort Collins Band Lo Fi Ho Hum Are Anything But!

FORT COLLINS, CO -- New Fort Collins band with Montana roots, Lo Fi Ho Hum, debuts first album Garage Pop August 2nd 2024.

Lo Fi Ho Hum started as the solo project of Jacob Godbey, with songs written over the past few years and recorded entirely in his father’s shop in his hometown of Lewistown, MT. Since then, Lo Fi Ho Hum has become a love letter to Fort Collins (where he found himself after moving for a relationship that didn’t work out), other communities once called home, and even smaller locales within them all evoking places of belonging. Written in isolation, Lo Fi Ho Hum has become an ode to collaboration- with members and resources sourced from Fort Collins’ own The Music District, which Godbey credits for much of the band’s current (and future) success.

Balancing the peaceful solitude and appreciation for a slower-paced lifestyle that comes with Montana roots with the slightly more metropolitan resources available in Fort Collins, Godbey strives to do justice to inspirations with local ties- Black Flag and Descendents. Channeling the Dave Grohl & Bill Stevenson methodology of writing all parts as primarily a drummer, Godbey strays outside of typical songwriting formulas and brings a unique perspective to each song he writes.

Lo Fi Ho Hum cares first about authenticity. Debut album Garage Pop consists of only 19 minutes and 7 carefully selected and crafted songs Godbey fully believes in, as opposed to a longer album of half-hearted works. The goal is to put out music the band connects with first, in the hopes that you’ll do the same and share with others who may connect as well. Mixed by Justin Asher (sound designer for multiple-award-winning podcast Levar Burton Reads and former audio producer for Emmy-nominated documentary Con Safos) and mastered by Ryan Perras of District Recordings, Garage Pop can’t wait to make its way out of the garage it was recorded in and into your heart.
In its live form, Lo Fi Ho Hum consists of Jacob Godbey (he/him, vocals/guitar), Adam Daugherty (he/him, guitar), Maddi (she/her, drums), and Shiloh Daricek (they/she/he, bass.) Garage Pop will have a $5 early release on July 26th 2024 on the group’s Bandcamp page and will be available to stream globally on August 2nd 2024. Like Foo Fighters or The Strokes, Lo Fi Ho Hum plans to be the band stuck in your head and making you hum for years to come.

Started in a shop in Montana and taking its new form in Fort Collins, Lo Fi Ho Hum is anything but.
